Technical Lead

Technical Leads head groups of developers in creating software applications for Cogenix clients. Their responsibilities:
  • Assist the Project Manager/Program Manager in delegating project tasks to developers
  • Create technical specifications
  • Develop the most difficult elements of windows and web applications from specifications and prototypes
  • Work as a contributing member of the Cogenix team
  • Provide technical assistance to developers
  • Estimate task durations
  • Deliver stable and customer-ready applications for unit and system testing, which meet or exceed client expectations
  • Write well-structured, professional and reusable code
  • Create clean, well-designed user interfaces
  • Participate in developer code reviews
The successful Technical Lead will have at least 6 (six) years of software development experience, along with the following:
  • Demonstrated application development expertise utilizing three or more of the following technologies: .NET (C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET), Visual Basic, SQL Server, Active Server Pages, JavaScript and/or VBScript
  • Have experience working in a team development environment as a technical mentor
  • Experience working with COM+, ActiveX, XML, and DHTML
  • Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle and with formal development processes is preferred
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD) or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification is preferred
  • Good interpersonal skills and organization

Project Manager

Although Cogenix has no current opening for a Project Manager, we are always interested in qualified candidates with the following skills:

Project Managers deliver successful custom software solutions to Cogenix clients. Their responsibilities:
  • Schedule, monitor and track projects from inception through final delivery
  • Work as a contributing member of the Cogenix management team
  • Provide effective communication between client management and Cogenix management
  • Build long-term relationships through solution-based consulting services
  • Provide Change Control Management
  • Assist in requirements gathering and business modeling
The successful Project Manager will have at least 2 (two) years of custom software project management experience, along with the following:
  • Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Project experience with the Rational Unified Process or a similar methodology
  • Track record of end-to-end project management success in custom software projects of 3,000 manhours or more
  • Ability to manage multiple projects for different clients simultaneously
  • Demonstrated skill utilizing Microsoft Project
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and written communication skills

Developer

Although Cogenix has no current opening for a Developer, we are always interested in qualified candidates with the following skills:

We are currently looking for a top-notch application developer with very strong skills and experience on Microsoft platforms. The responsibilities:
  • Develop client-server and web applications from specifications and prototypes
  • Create technical specifications
  • Work as contributing members of the Cogenix team
  • Deliver stable and customer-ready applications for unit and system testing, which meet or exceed client expectations
  • Write well-structured, professional and reusable code
The successful Developer will have at least 5 (five) years of software development experience, along with the following:
  • Demonstrated deep application development skill utilizing VB.NET and/or C#, Visual Basic 6.0, WinForms, Web Services and SQL Server
  • Experience working in a team development environment
  • Knowledge of COM+, ActiveX, and XML
  • Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle and with formal development processes is preferred
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD) or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification (current for 2003) is required
  • Good interpersonal and written skills and organization
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or Green Card holder located in the Puget Sound area

Systems Architect

Although Cogenix has no current opening for a Systems Architect, we are always interested in qualified candidates with the following skills:

System Architects design and model software and web applications for Cogenix clients based on client requirements. Their responsibilities:
  • Work with the Project Manager and Business Analyst to develop architectural specifications utilizing project requirements and functional specifications, and break those specifications into tasks
  • Provide direction in the development of prototypes
  • Develop data models as part of the design process
  • Provide technical assistance to developers and technical leads
  • Estimate task time requirements
  • Work as a "Tiger Team" developer when projects need quick delivery
  • Work as contributing member of the Cogenix team
  • Deliver stable and customer-ready applications for unit and system testing, which meet or exceed client expectations
  • Write well-structured, professional and reusable code

  • Participate in developer code and interface reviews
The successful System Architect will have at least 6 (six) years of software development experience, along with the following:
  • Demonstrated application development expertise utilizing Visual Basic, SQL Server, and Active Server Pages; demonstrated expertise developing with .NET is preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise in data modeling and OOA/OOD
  • Experience working in a team development environment as a technical mentor
  • Knowledge of COM+, ActiveX, XML, JavaScript, VBScript, Oracle, Analysis Services/OLAP, MSMQ, eCommerce, Java, BizTalk and/or DHTML is preferred

Test Lead

Although Cogenix has no current opening for a Test Lead, we are always interested in qualified candidates with the following skills:

Test Leads work with Cogenix project management, developers, testers and clients to determine and articulate test needs and execute thorough test plans for any given project. Their responsibilities:
  • Generate test outlines, plans and cases as appropriate
  • Execute unit and system software tests and document results
  • Conduct both black box and white box tests
  • Work with clients and team members to document, resolve and verify problems
  • Work specifically in a .NET environment, testing .NET middle-tier objects and SQL database components.
  • Must be able to work independently in a fast paced, lean environment, with tight schedules and highly efficient resources
  • Must be able to adapt fast to new technologies and environments, and be willing and able to work at a heightened level of intensity (read: hours) necessary to release product on schedule
The successful Test Lead will have at least 4 (four) years of white-box testing experience, along with the following:
  • Familiarity with standard testing methodologies
  • Experience working in a team development environment
  • Must have advanced skills in VB and significant experience testing COM+ components in a distributed environment
  • Project experience with various industry standard tools
  • Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle and formal development processes
  • Outstanding documentation and interpersonal skills

Test Manager

Although Cogenix has no current opening for a Test Manager, we are always interested in qualified candidates with the following skills:

The Cogenix Test Manager will be responsible for leading Cogenix' testing effort on projects ranging from 1,000 to 25,000 hours in scope. Their responsibilities:
  • Work with clients and other team members to determine testing needs
  • Direct test designers in test creation
  • Work with Project Manager to develop test plan schedules
  • Build and maintain test team
  • Work as a contributing member of the Cogenix team
The successful Test Manager will have at least 2 (two) years of test management experience and an additional 4 (four) years of white-box test experience, along with the following:
  • Familiarity with standard testing methodologies (RUP preferred)
  • Experience developing large-scope test plans
  • Knowledge of OO programming concepts and n-tier/DNA based architecture
  • Experience with stress, unit, regression, system and integration testing
  • Knowledge of relational databases, SQL Server experience preferred
  • Project experience with Rational Test Manager, Microsoft Visual Test or similar test development tool

Senior Account Executive

Although Cogenix has no current opening for a Senior Account Executive, we are always interested in qualified candidates with the following skills:

Account Executives perform new business development, sales, and marketing activities for Cogenix. Their responsibilities:
  • Develop new business and relationships within large and medium-sized organizations
  • Work as a contributing member of the Cogenix team
  • Manage the entire sales process including creating new business opportunities, qualifying deals, selling our services, coordinating team presentations, and closing business deals
  • Focus on building long-term relationships through solution-based selling
The successful Account Executive will have at least 5 (five) years of account management experience, along with the following:
  • Information Technology background with an understanding of the consulting business

  • Complete internal IT tasks and projects
  • Support Cogenix development efforts
  • Perform IT work for Cogenix clients
The successful IT Technician will have at least 2 (two) years of IT experience, along with the following:
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certification is preferred
  • Good interpersonal skills and organization

Business Analyst

Although Cogenix has no current opening for a Business Analyst, we are always interested in qualified candidates with the following skills:

Business Analysts work with Cogenix clients to determine their business needs and model their business processes. Their responsibilities:
  • Meet with clients to determine their business needs
  • Diagram and document client business processes
  • Generate Software Requirements Specifications
  • Review Architectural Specifications to ensure adherence to software requirements
  • Work as a contributing member of the Cogenix team
The successful Business Analyst will have at least 3 (three) years of custom software business analysis experience, along with the following:
  • Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Project experience with the Rational Unified Process or a similar methodology
  • Track record of successful business modeling and requirements documentation in custom software projects of 3,000 manhours or more
  • Some project management experience is preferred
  • Outstanding documentation and interpersonal skills
